There is no greater threat to a pure love than jealousy, which drives everyone who gets carried away by the bad images they inspire in their heads. They say that a long time ago, in the beautiful region of Los Llanos, there lived a girl named Melissa, who was very beautiful. He had black eyes, huge and deep, dark hair that reached up to his waist and dark, immaculate skin.
.

Being so beautiful Melissa had many suitors, but only one fell in love with madness, the most handsome and best-hearted among all. They got married and had a lovely baby.

Everything indicated that the couple's life would be pure happiness, but what nobody in the town knew, was that Melissa was a very jealous woman and often made demands on her husband without him deserving them . Every time she lost her sight to work, she was assaulted by terrible thoughts. He constantly lived with the fear that he would leave with another.

One day, Melissa went to bathe in the river. While she was in the water, she was spied on by one of the men in the village, a womanizer and vicious who had always wanted her.

- What are you doing there, spying on me? -she snapped at the discovery- Although I'm not surprised about you, you're a pig.

"I was not spying on you," he lied. "I just came to tell you that I just saw your husband with your mother. He is cheating on you!

Mad with rage, Melissa ran back to her house, where she found her husband working. Even so she did not believe him and in a fit of madness, she set fire to her home, killing her husband and her baby inside. Then he went to find his mother, who was also innocent, and killed her by giving him three machetes in the belly.

- I've never betrayed you with your husband! -she said while dying- Because of jealousy you have committed the worst sin of all: to take life. That's why, I curse you, sayona!

Melissa disappeared after the murders and nothing was heard of her again.

From those sad events, drunken men and womanizers began to fear a specter that appeared to them in the middle of the night. It was the Sayona, a beautiful woman who came to them to ask for some fire. But as soon as they lit the lighters, they saw that the beautiful face of the stranger was transformed into a deformed face with eyes that emitted embers like hell.

For now this was all about this interesting legend, I say goodbye then to all of you, dear readers. The legend of the sayona is found in many books and websites, some with some difference between them. In this opportunity the legend was taken from the following Source:
