15% commission? Go fuck yourselves.

Hi Berni :)

Yes, Engrave needs to take some commission to cover a cost of development.

But if 15% is too much for you, you can easily take advantage of the fact that Engrave is fully open-source, and you can setup own Engrave instance with own configuration as you wish.

So if you prefer to self-host Engrave instance, take care about security updates of server, maintenance... then you can do that :)

Is that fair? :)

This project will be dead within a year. You'll see how little people care about creating their own blogs when you're raping them.

The good thing is, that Engrave was actually build as a spin-off of Polish GłodniWiedzy website: https://glodniwiedzy.pl/

Głodni Wiedzy based on Steem was visited by thousands of non-Steemians, even before Steem users has become aware of this project:

At the beginning the goal of @bgornicki was just to create a website for his own - and he achieved his goal. Months later he decide to open his framework to the public.

This project will be dead within a year.

If that would happen, probably Głodni Wiedzy will still be around as it was earlier. If Engrave will not become popular, then it is good that it is open-source. Other people will be able to create other projects on this code-base, exactly as many project was created based on busy code.

You'll see how little people care about creating their own blogs when you're raping them.

We are using a legitimate feature of Steem in exactly the way for which it was designed.

Engrave is an alternative for users which would like to get features which we can offer them. We do not force anyone to use it :)

Actually, our goal is to focus on non-Steemians, on people which nowadays are using platforms like blogger.com. Most of those people has not earned even a single cent from those blogs during years of using those platforms. We want to introduce those people to Steem with easy to setup Engrave platform.

If they will not like our platform - fine! There are plenty of alternatives build on top of Steem! That is the beauty of this ecosystem!!! :)

Alexa rank it useless for most medium and small-size websites and proves nothing ;)

I would argue that glodniwiedzy.pl is already dead. It has been going down and down and ...

last article on glodniwiedzy was published a month ago. Despite this, people are still visiting a website:

Why there was less articles? Well, preparation of Engrave required some time so there was less time for Glodni Wiedzy ;)

My steemit wall gets more views than that.

Indeed, we've noticed some lowering in interest but... entire polish community on Steem is struggling with this problem and probably not only polish one. It's because of token price and some unfavorable changes in laws.

But glodniwiedzy.pl is not a Steem frontend but more like editorial office - we're trying to hire more and more editors to provide better content. And going to accelerate it again.

Wow, just don't use the service if you like. Its depressing that someone speaking like you has a reputation of 73. I sometimes speak critically on Twitter, but I think its reasonable for them to get a cut. Maybe soon they'll see what the earnings are and adjust the percentage down.

I think the smaller the percentage the easier it will be to on-board new users, so the long term percentage will likely change over time.

Dude... How can they afford to host your blog for nothing? I agree that it should be optional to use some kind of paid subscription plan instead, but for people that are flat broke or need to dip their toes in this is a godsend. This means you till make 60% of upvote value from your bernie sanders impersonation blog at 0 upfront costs.
