Every soldier in Ezekiel's group is killed except for Ezekiel himself, who is injured. He is taken hostage by a Savior named Gunther, who intends on delivering him to Negan, but is saved by Jerry, who splits Gunther in half with his axe. Carol clears the inside of the compound, but two Saviors escape with the guns; their getaway is ultimately foiled by Rick and Daryl. As Ezekiel, Jerry, and Carol head back to the Kingdom, they are surrounded by another horde of walkers. Shiva appears and sacrifices herself to save her master. The trio arrive at the Kingdom, where Ezekiel's confidence as a leader has diminished as he silently walks past the assembled crowd, grieving the loss of his people.
