When I first started exploring Dtube and Dsound I was pleasantly surprised to find that the platforms hadn't been completely hijacked by pirates looking to upload vast amounts of material without the fear of reprisal due to the decentralization of the platform.
Those familiar with YouTube probably know the incredible amount of money put into algorithms to detect any copy-written material. Dtube being in its infancy has no such system in place yet.
Now at its core Steem is also a bit of a social experiment. A huge positive from this is how friendly and welcoming the community is unlike other social media because everyone knows the potential of the platform and wants to make it work. Adding a financial incentive to liking content means artists are funding each other on a global scale for the first time.
Part of that model means that no one wants to jeopardize the platform by devaluing it with material that could get it shut down.
