Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti was stunned by the news that if Andrea Dovizioso is on the radar of Repsol Honda and Movistar Yamaha teams next year. He said when talking about a new contract there would be a long bargaining process.
Ciabatti revealed that every time talking about a new contract, the team will see how much the driver contributed in his last season. If one of the drivers appear competitive, it is expected that negotiations will take place a lot.
That's why, why Dovizioso be the prima donna that will be contested team next year. Moreover, MotoGP runner-up this year managed to set a personal record by collecting six wins for 18 races he lived.
"The negotiations on salaries are always based on the results of a racer: A rider with a history of victory such as Dovizioso this year will be in a stronger position when he negotiates," Ciabatti said on Tuesday (28/11/2017).
"I'm sure when the time comes, we should consider that he won seven races for Ducati, and hopefully he's with us again," hope Ciabatti.
In 2017 MotoGP, Dovizioso appear surprising. Italian man was almost just won the world title. Dovizioso involved fierce competition with Repsol Honda champion Marc Marquez up to the final series.
Unfortunately Dovizioso less fortunate. He failed to become world champion after falling in Valencia MotoGP. Marquez also managed to defend the title.
