One of the most important things I have learned is to acquire mentors in my life that have the results that I want so I can learn from them. The latest mentor the universe allowed me to work with is Howard Behar, former President of Starbucks.

I approached him and asked him to grant me an interview to help explain the concepts of Conscious Capitalism and Servant Leadership and he agreed with alacrity.

These are concepts that are seemingly paradoxical but in reality are tried and true approaches to success.

We talked about the following things:

  1. Taking care of YOURSELF first, and then take care of others.
  2. We are not here to sell people things, we are here to help people find solutions to problems or needs they have.
  3. Are businesses evil?
  4. Life/work balance.
  5. How do you do Voluntaryism?
  6. Culture is a reflection of the leadership of the organization.
  7. Three-second decisions.
  8. How he found servant leadership.

We hope you find this profitable. Remember to share this with your friends!

Great interview, and message. LFM.

Only returning to a free market enterprise will we be able to save our republic . Good thoughts , and good feelings aren’t going to cut it .

I agree! But I do think we need good thoughts AND a free market to really win sustainably.
