Hi, Steemnians. I've decided to make a blog on one of the activities that I've done today. It was the preparation of fermented fruit juicy. It is used as a source of nutrients for the microorganisms that will going to decompose the waste and it is also used for human consumption (as a juice).
Composting isn't that hard and easy as you think. Being knowledgable enough on proper ways of composting is an edge of an individual to do such action on saving our environment. As an Environmentalist and human living in this world, it is my and our moral obligation to help, sustain and preserve our environment. Through our little ways, we can make impact and save our future.
Fermented Fruit Juice (FFJ) is an artificial honey. It is a nutritional activation enzyme and is very effective in natural farming. FFJ is a kind of FPJ that only uses fruits as its main ingredients. It is used to revitalize crops, livestock and humans. As the main fruit ingredients we can use Banana, Papaya, Mango, Grape, Melon, Apple etc (the fruits must be sweet).
- Prepare and chop at least 2-3 fully ripened fruits, either picked or fallen. Look for fruits that grow in your locality (in our city- banana, mangoes, papaya and avocado are abundantly available). If the quantity of fruits is not sufficient, you may add supplementary ingredients such as spinach roots, wild yam, cabbage or matured squash. **Remember: Do not include seed and skin. No citrus fruits. Fruits = 1kg

- Put the chopped fruits inside the clay jar or a plastic container (enough to breath) and mix with 1 kg. molasses or crude sugar.
Chopped and mixed fruits
- Cover with a clean sheet of paper and tie with a string. Place in a cool and shaded room. Fermentation usually takes 7-8 days. Let it ferment.
This will make approximately 2 1/2 liters of juice.
- Ready to use- spray to leaves and soil. It is also good for human consumption.
