I don't usually discuss the environment but this just gets under my skin. For starters, the elephant, particularly African elephants are in danger of extinction because there are hunters out there who are selling their body parts for cash. Enter President Donald Trump
Apparently, he made an executive order stating that big game hunters can now sell elephant body parts and bring them into the country. He claims that it'll help the elephant species in the long run. However, there are others that disagree.
For example, Wayne Pacelle of The Humane Society says that " “What kind of message does it send to say to the world that poor Africans who are struggling to survive cannot kill elephants in order to use or sell their parts to make a living, but that it’s just fine for rich Americans to slay the beasts for their tusks to keep as trophies?”
There are only 400,000 Elephants left in the world, it used to be 3 million, so I can't see how hunters selling their parts for money helps them in anyway.
But here's the capper: Eric and Donald Trump, Jr., are big game hunters!
I'm starting to see what people's big beef with Trump is. I SO can't wait until 2020 to vote against him. This lunatic has got to be stopped. After all, you'd have to be off your rocker to kill a peaceful, harmless animal such as the elephant!
It is our duty and obligation to protect these animals .
