EOS can do to Blockchain, what Windows did to Personal Computers

in #eos6 years ago (edited)

Remember how Bill Gates brought personal computers to every home with his revolutionary product Windows. Remember how he created Windows? Its a classic example of packaging best of everything together.  He studied different initiatives that were going around in computing industry - example at Xerox (Mouse), IBM or Apple - and picked up best of everything to create a single product that beats the hell out of everyone.

I see a similar history being created by @dan with his dream project EOS. He may not get the first mover advantage, but he is on his track to package the best of all the Blockchain initiatives (Hyperledger, Ethereum, Ripple, BTS) together and re-code it to create another revolutionary product. DECENTRALIZE EVERYTHING as they say.

With 160 days of ICO behind us, how has EOS done so far?

Here are some straight facts:

  1. Collected 2.1 million Ethereum:  worth $973 million at today's price ($460); or $586 million worth Ethereum considering price as of daily collection
  2.  Distributed 520 million EOS:  worth $1.7 billion at today's price ($3.3)
  3. Trading at 1.8 x premium: Considering that the ICO has collected $973 million worth Ethereum and is valued at $1.7 B (Just one month before it was trading at a discount)
  4. 14th in terms of Market Cap: WIth total market cap of $1.7 billion; just below NEM and surpassing ETC

Can EOS stand up to their promise of Decentralizing everything?

  • 1 million Transactions per second: EOS claims they have the ability to schedule tasks across "hundreds of CPUs" , allow million of transactions per second with no fees. EOS in one of their internal reviews found that their software was able to process 10,000 single threaded transactions on a multi node network, this means with 100 CPUs they can easily clock 1 million transactions.

  • Scaling: Scaling is one of the hardest thing to achieve in Blockchain - Bitcoin, Ethereum - everyone is struggling through it. However, EOS says Dapps (Decentralized Applications) built on EOS platform can go for both horizontal and vertical scaling.

  • Multi Lingual Smart Contracts:  Another big deterrent of using Ethereum is their language of writing smart contracts - Solidity. So if anyone has to write a smart contract on Ethereum, one has to learn Solidity first. But in EOS smart contracts can be written in any programming language. This means an organization that is planning to move to a decentralized network may not have to first train their employees to learn solidity, but instead use that time to write Solid Smart Contracts, language no bar.

Under-commit over-Deliver

Commonly heard in corporates that always under commit and over deliver to win clients confidence, well in case of EOS @dan and his team has certainly not under-committed but is on his track of over delivery.

Early launch of Dawn 1 and Dawn 2 (scheduled by end of 2017) and the fast track progress on multi-thread layer of the software development, is one of the boosters that lead to the 200% price appreciation of EOS in last month; sparking investors confidence

and Just like that EOS crossed $5 per token, the market cap is JUST $2.5 Billion. Don't you think it is still undervalued, look where IOTA is now

Strong article thanks !

I like and enjoyed your post @bsameep ! The facts was good. Keep publishing more interesting and informative articles.
Keep steeming. Cheers !!!

thanks kingru

Nice article! What wallet do you hold EOS in?

I store in myetherwallet.

I am using Bitfinex, no other EOS specific wallet.

hi @kus-knee following the recent DDoS attacks on Bitfinex, i have moved my little holdings that I had to Metamask wallet.. I feel more secure now :)

Thanks for asking...

You can use Exodus as well

great article. 100% upvote :)

Thanks buddy... let us spread this message to on board more people on EOS...

yep, it's so misunderstood. EOS is "blockchain real estate".

Liked that analogy... Yes definitely it can come out as the basic infrastructure layer...

Too good for you
