Despite the official announcement of the launch of the EOS main network last Sunday, the completion of the election of 21 block producers is required for the effective start-up of said network. Out of the 150 million votes / EOS required, 56.7 million have been booked up to Tuesday, or 37.8%.
On the other hand, the EOS community has expressed feelings of confusion and discontent over the decision to appoint only one designated block producer (ABP) who was in charge of launching the main network and who will supervise the voting in progress.
One of the candidates for Block Producer (BP) EOSAuthority, published a detailed timeline in which the incidents of the launch from the last June 2, the initially scheduled date , to the election of the 21 producers of blocks that are registered they will be in charge of the effective activation of the main network. This timeline corresponds to the original plan of the launch, which contemplated the random selection of the 21 ABPs to carry out the launch and then deliver control of the main network to the elected BPs.

Once 15% of the tokens have been used to vote, the blockchain is considered valid and its normal functions are activated. The duration of this phase will be the one required by the community of token holders. All Designated Block Producers will be immediately replaced by the elected BPs.
While this was the course of events that the community expected, in practice EOS executives decided to name only one PBL, as evidenced by a Telegram chat that attributes the decision to Dan Larimer , the principal developer of EOS, as in the transcript of conversations that TrustNodes had access to.
Eric Wall, of the EOS community, stood out for a strong opposition, from his Twitter account to the secret management and centralized practices, by a sector made up of the most important EOS owners, who characterized the launch of the network principal.
Eric Wall
I'm observing the EOS mainnet launch, but unfortunately I don't have time to do a full investigation this weekend. If you're curious as to what I am currently focusing on, read this thread, but beware that there might be inaccuracies or information that I'm lacking.
In the thread of this tweet of June 9 of Eric Wall, not only cites the evidence of the improper handling of the launch of the main EOS network , also responds to those who justify the appointment of a single BP, and also secret, wielding reasons for security or the convenience of a simpler process.
In another of his tweets from June 10, Wall resorts to an ironic argument: he mentions what $ 4 billion - what EOS collected in his ICO - can buy and what they can not buy. In the first category Wall includes 20,000 'lambos', the Manchester United team, and the full Swedish Defense budget. But they can not buy love or "a decentralized launch of a decentralized application platform".
There are also suspicions about the concentration of most of the EOS tokens in a few hands - 50% of the tokens are concentrated in 10 directions - and the relationship of this fact with the selected consensus algorithm, Delegated Participation Test , (DPoS ). This facilitates that the election of the 21 BP -which requires only 15% of the votes- also remains in a few hands.

I'm pretty sure everything will be fine with EOS. I will hold it longterm.
