EOS Halves Token Amount Reserved for Block.one Article is False

Just a heads up, when it comes to your security in crypto you need to be suspect of all properties and pay attention to new things that people send you.

The article recently circulating around is titled:

EOS Halves Token Amount Reserved for Block.one, Leaves 50 000 000 Tokens to be Claimed

It appears to be on coindesk.com, what many would consider a trusted news source.

Look more closely at the URL, it has a special character in it.

Hard to see, I know. An easier way to see it is a fake domain is if you copy and paste the domain from your browser into a text document. In this case, it looked like this:

https://www.xn--coindes-bx3c.com/EOS-halves-token-amount-for-blockone-leaves-tokens-to-be-claimed/

Yeah, definitely not coindesk.

I have seen another similar domain floating around that looks like binance.com as well. Best way to protect yourself is to always type in addresses yourself and be guarded with links shared in groups.

Hope this helps someone of you protect yourself.

Wow!! that is crazy shit.....media manipulation...these scumbags will do anything to ruin their competition

It too me awhile to see that the letter k is fake. Thanks for pointing out this scam.

These IDN domain names are more trouble than they are worth. The special characters are just used to scam people.

Thanks, another scam alert!
