There are some reason behind this pumping. i think the most one is:
"It is Release due in less than two months."

Personally I think the main reasons are:
I expect quite a big drop after the 15th of April though, and definitely a big drop after mainnet launch. This project is valued disproportionally to similar others if you ask me. It is a good project, but not that good. It takes years to build a good ecosystem around a project for instance and I don't hear much about that.

Well. I’m not sure if the self upvote is a problem in the first place. What’s wrong with bringing a solution and voting for it.
Secondly, not allowing self upvote makes it easy for cheaters who use their 2nd account and hard for the host to cheat.
Hence the design to allow self-upvotes and be transparent about it.
If someone brings a crap solution to my bounty and self upvote I may very well flag.
I agree. In general I self-upvote as a way to reward myself for writing high-quality comments. Without my self-upvote, I'd likely participate less in the system.
It sounds like Steem bounties are subject to considerable gaming. Therefore, downvotes will be important for preventing abusive practices.

I believe it has everything to do with the EOSdac airdrop coming up on the 15th. I was planning on getting some EOS myself in waiting for the airdrop but somehow, i decided to wait for the 14th. Now I am wishing I had earlier.

I'm not 100% sure if this news is reliable, but according to one online article the South Koreans seems to be determined to pump the price of EOS. The upcoming EOSDAO airdrop I feel like is most responsible. Though the majority of volume is from South Korea.
I say timing is lining up nicely for EOS release. Its coming soon and the price will build up as we approach that. There are also airdrops coming in between now and then.
Today also marked the first day of the Hackathon they are hosting.

I guess it´s like always depending on a few reasons and not only one. One might be the eosDAC Airdrop which will occur on the 15th as far as I know.
It even gained more since they pushed Litecoin from the 5th Rank on CMC.

After days of consolidation EOS/USD test above the 61% Fibonacci retracement level of $7.4, as well as the lower band of the daily Ichimoku cloud. After the pull back we might see $11.40!
The reason behind this specific surge in EOS/USD is not clear as of yet.
They opened up a website few days ago where block producer candidates could announce themselves and one of the biggest bitcoin miners came as a candidate

To your question: The main reason for it to spike is in my opinion first the general massive increase in the market we saw the last 2-3 days. Adding up to that are some good news and announcements (all of them already listed by other commentators) concerning EOS lately.
My understanding is that EOS Mainnet launch is nearing, expected to happen in sometime next month.
Most has been mentioned, EOS will for sure be successful based on many factors - this pump maybe because my spot about ONO to be launched on EOS - here you have the reason - can not guarantee a long-termed EOS success as of my post only :-).
Eos os most likley pumping up for 2 reasons .
Its all very excitimg and i hope EOS has its ethereum moment in june and we see a pump above $100
ONO is social network from China that will launch on EOS. China is the main engine.
