EOS itself is ethereum based token, then how it will solve ethereum's problem(s)?

Like many icos, EOS is launching on ethereum while the blockchain is being developed that the actual eos token will live on. It's just an easy way to launch an ico, once EOS is ready those ethereum based tokens must all be turned in and converted to the real deal.
