Is Buying EOS tokens during daily Token Sale and Trading on exchanges profitable ?

in #eos7 years ago

EOS ICO has been most hyped and talked about ICO in the cryto community in 2017 with the initial EOS Token Distribution
about 200,000,000 tokens ( Which is 20% of the total amount of tokens ) generating about $185 million in just 5 days !

They are also Distributing about 2,000,000 EOS tokens with 23 hour periods on a daily basis to spread out the offering to more investors continuing till next year.

I had a question ? Can we make some profit by buying tokens directly from eos site and selling it on an exchange like bitfinex ?

I tried it out today . Before i invested on the ICO , I kept a keen watch on how many EOS tokens i would get per ETH by using this site http://eosscan.io/ .

eosscan.io provides investors a way to determine the price of each EOS token you are buying depending on the number of Etherium coins deposited into the ICO account.

So if only about 10,000 ETH are Contributed within the 23 hours. The number of EOS coin you will get for 1 ETH will be about 2,000,000 EOS Tokens / 10,000 ETH = 200 Tokens per ETH Coin

So based on this and the price of ETH in real time we can calculate how much each EOS coin .

When i bought today. Till the last hour the price per EOS was about 1$. And in the last hour it jumped up as many investors who were looking at the data invested a ton of etherium in just the last 20 to 30 minutes .

Finally i received about 100 Token for contributing 1.1 ETH for a price of about $2.3886.
Then i sold them on bitfinex for $2.488 about 0.10$ profit per token.
So making about only 10$ in profit .

So the current price of EOS tokens on exchanges its not that profitable.

Maybe if price increases and the demand for the EOS tokens gets reduced we can buy a single EOS token from the 23 hour sale for about 1 $ and sell it on exchange for 1.5$ or 2 $ based on the exchange price if we are lucky .

Hope this post was helpful. I am new to steemit. Looking forward to contributing to the community.
