One of the simplest way to get EOS from scratch is to set up a Coinbase account and a Bitfinex account. Buy Ether at Coinbase, transfer to Bitfinex then buy EOS through a standard limit trade. If you are buying a lot to hold then best to set up an Ethereum account and withdraw the EOS to cold storage until needed.
