Aikido doesn't work in practice, just like absolute transparency.

Ghandi wasn't that clever. He said the Jews should have just given in to the Nazis and not fought back in self-defence.

Sadly, transparency for individuals doesn't work. That's how Orwellian governments seize power, as you've acknowledged.

To say that tyrannical governments commit bad acts under the veil of secrecy and would never dare do it in the sunlight has to be wrong. We see North Korea torturing 100,000s of people and we all know. They dare.

I vote for transparency of organisations, especially governments and optional privacy for individuals. We have to protect those who are going to be persecuted by religion and other harmful ideology.
