Less than one month that EOS launched, there has been quite a number of competition as regard who and are going to be part of dominating forces on EOS blockchain. BP (Block Producers) are similar to witnesses on the steemit blockchain and parliaments in real life. They help us achieve true decentralization that we yearned for and minimize the risk of 51% attacks. Without block producers running servers (nodes) that validate and confirm transactions of EOS blockchaim, nothing will happen. the race to be part of decentralized governing body on EOS has began, and for a country with highest number of blockchain adopters on African soil, it is the least that we can do despite all challenges. Instead of allowing few individuals to run the mining pool as we experienced POW and POS, Bitcoin and Ethereum are good examples of blockchain whose mining pool has been dominated by few BIG guys in mining industry, less than 10 of them in the world and are most likely concentrated in same geographical location in the world. We are talking about Asian big guys. EOS will have rotating set of 21 Block Producers, it doesn't guarantee absolute decentralization, trust me, we are 12X closer to it.
