Thanks! This one already went out at 50/50, but I'll switch to 100% power up going forward. It makes sense for me anyway: I'm at zero HP and living off delegated RC, so powering up is the only way out of that.
And point taken on commenting. I've been treating this like a blog and not like a place with people in it.
Yes, if you are waiting for the blog to be found by search engines you are jogging in place.
The people here that can reward you will read your posts, or have somebody read them for them, and decide based on criteria not always readily obvious whether to add you to their curation gang's list, or not.
Best to see this as an indelible backup for your work while being offered a chance to grow a savings account from it.
You can't beat hive as a savings account, few others can compete.
I put ~150usd in @doobetterhive 4 years ago and it has grown its value a little with a voting bot following a trail.
Comments can be set to power up in peakd's settings.
Thank you, this helps a lot. I'm new here and I was clearly thinking about it wrong. I assumed it worked like a blog, where you publish and people eventually find you. If it's people reading, or people reading for other people, that's a different thing entirely and I need to learn how it works.
The savings account idea I hadn't considered at all. I'll take the time to understand it properly.
And thank you for the vote, I saw it. I appreciate you taking the time to explain any of this.

There are early adopter whales that run curation gangs to 'help out' the newbs, it is unlikely, though not impossible, that you could benefit from those efforts.
They mostly like corporatespeak and original, authentic posts about who you are and what you did today.
They DO NOT like me, I tell it like I see it too much.
And, they told me as much out the gate 10 years ago.
I mostly try to ignore them and their brownnosing sycophants.
I think I already gave you the other two:
