I came back to this and finally understood what it does. Burning the rewards is the part I'd missed, it means I can preserve sources without it being someone else's work I'm profiting from. That's genuinely useful for what I write, since the documents I cite tend to quietly disappear. Thanks a lot for pointing it out, even if it took me a week to get it.
