Assimilation is an advanced social process that arises
if there are groups of people who have
different cultural backgrounds
interact and mingle directly and intensively within
a long time, and the cultures of the faction-
each group changed its characteristic nature
into new, different cultural elements
to the original.
Thus will emerge culture
which is a mixed culture in between
the groups that meet each other.
Basically assimilation is done as an attempt to
reducing differences between individuals or groups to use
reach an agreement on the basis of interest and
common goals. Meanwhile Koentjaraningrat
argues that the assimilation process will arise if any
culturally diverse groups of people each other
interaction directly and continuously in the run
a long time, so that each culture
groups change and adjust to each other.
