The Steem blockchain requires a set of people to create blocks and uses a consensus mechanism called delegated proof of stake. The community elects "witnesses" to act as the network's block producers and governance body. There are 20 full-time witnesses, producing a block every 63-second round. Witnesses are compensated with Steem Power for each block they create.
In other words here witness is a person who has bought/rented expensive & powerfull server maintaining stability of Steem Blockchain and allowing all of us to use the magic of Steem. To run a Steem node you basically need really powerful machine with huge amount of RAM.
As I understood, if you vote for witness it gets more chances to raise him/her to the top and get rewards from produced blocks more often. Correct me in the comments please if I am wrong or should add more details...

eSteem project.@good-karma (Feruz) has been here on Steem since the very beginning and immideately started to contribute into community. He has founded
eSteem Mobile
It started from eSteem Mobile client/interface for Steem which now has lots of useful features like push notifications, drafts and post schedules, favorites and bookmarks and translated to more than 50 languages. He was the founder and is main lead developer of this application.
Now the activities around eSteem Mobile looks silent but this is because of something new, more handy and awesome preparing for all of us behind the stage.
eSteem Surfer
Few months ago Feruz together with the help of another great developer Talha started to build one more cool product: eSteem Surfer: Steem interface for desktops.
It's very handy tool. I am using it daily for every activity on Steem on two machines (Mac and Windows) with 5 different accounts (needed to maintain eSteem communities) and prefer this application since a lot of love and sould putted into this product. It's Github page is boiling with daily activities. Bug reports and feature suggestions. I personally contribute a lot into user interface of Surfer suggesting tweaks and visual improvements often.
eSteem Surfer can handle:

- Schedules (Delayed Posting)
- Syncing your settings with eSteem Mobile
- Delegation tools
- Notifications
- Night Mode (My favorite option)

eSteem University
He has initiated new fast growing community related to education helping others to understand Steem blockchain basic principles and find audience for newcomers/bloggers who are ready to contribute building something useful.
Other projects
There are many things Feruz doing which I am not aware of. He is a fulltime contributing for Steem. There are monthly Spotlights where he send good SBD rewards for the top eSteem users. He is organising lots of creativity contests boosting users visibility, reputation and income grow.
Do you know how to check how many upvotes he gives to the new users? I am not but there is a huge and well maintaned system of eSteem Moderators/Curators who are manually choose good posts which are supported by eSteem community.
Good Person
I met Feruz in person this summer 2018 in Lithuanua while I came for some special yoga and meditation retreat with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Vilnius. I knew he is good but after meeting in person and spending a day with him I was just in love with his patience, wisdom for the life and shiny smile. He is really good person and the one we could trust. Believe me.
Future
There are many yet secret projects we are building for future growth of Steem in eSteem team which I can not tell you about but this is also really promising so you should give him your witness vote for sure!

- If you are still using Steemit only you can vote from there. Just open https://steemit.com/~witnesses page and upvote @good-karma there.
- Similarly you can do from your user profile page in eSteem Surfer. Find
Witness vote
in the left side under your user details, open it and upvote @good-karma from there. - Steemconnect might be the easiest variant by just clicking this link https://v2.steemconnect.com/sign/account-witness-vote?witness=good-karma&approve=1
If you don't know what other witnesses to choose you can just set @good-karma as a proxy so he will make a better decision for you.

Resteeming!I've been an esteem user for a year and in that time I have learned over and over again how thoughtful and truly helpful @Good-Karma is. There have been many times that he had to practically take me by the hand and explain to this grandmother which button to push next! Node? What's a node?
