I am a 22-day steemit member.
I recently found out about this app called esteem on android which has been around for awhile. I am very tempted to install but I am concerned about leaking out my private key and compromise the security of my account.
This is not a post to give information but a post to find out more from the experienced steemit members to a minnow on how safe is esteem and do you recommend since Steemit community is a helpful community so I hope to receive many responses.
Please comment if you have been using esteem for many months already.
I am sure there are lots of minnows like me who are serious about steemit but reluntant to use esteem since it is not directly developed by steemit itself.

I've tried it since it seems quite secure regarding the private key. However, I think that it needs a lot of improvements, since the I'm not always able to see the posts and images created with other apps, such as Steepshop. In addition, the wallet management does not work properly, at least on my phone (One Plus X). And the notifications are sent with a lot of delay (even hours) or don't even arrive.
So, at the moment I don't think it is a good app to manage the Steemit account, but can be useful only to see upvoting and following progress or to read and upvote other users posts.
Thanks for the feedback. It is useful when we want to do some upvoting. They do earn 5% from our author's reward when we use this app to post our article.
