Lady bug ternyata tidak hanya ada di daratan saja. Di laut pun ada. Sea ladybug adalah salah satu jenis amphipoda. Tubuhnya yang bermotif polkadot dan cantik itulah yang membuat si amphipoda ini juga dikenal dengan nama ladybug laut. Yang terbesar hanya mencapai ukuran 3 milimeter saja. Hewan ini mempunyai habitat di algae dan sea apple, sponge ataupun di tunicate.
Amphipoda adalah krustasea malacostracan tanpa karapas dengan badan lateral terkompresi. Kebanyakan amphipod ini mempunyai ukuran yang cukup kecil.
Karena kecilnya, si cantik dari laut ini cukup sulit untuk ditemukan. Selain dari kemampuannya untuk beradaptasi secara fisiologis terhadap tempat di mana ia tinggal. Dan hewan ini cukup mudah di dapat di lautan nusantara.
