The most awful is old people believe in this scheme and pay!
In the US, this is called "Social Security" except they take it directly out of our paychecks before giving us our paychecks. We are "promised" that after a certain age, 67(?), we get to get our full monthly benefit based on the amount we contributed over our lifetime.
This is meant to help supplement our incomes when we get older and retire.
However, there are many in my generation that don't believe we will get it at all since those funds are being used for other things and not replenished on a governmental level.

we've a Pension Fund, all people pay taxes when they work officially, and then a t the age of 55-60 they get get pension and don't work any more
it workd for many years, but in fact pensions are so tiny!! people can hardly live without any other income, so why and for what did they pay taxes all their lives?
