aceh is known for one of the most culturally and historical cities, many countries in the world have worked with Aceh such as Malaysia, Turkey, Sweden and many other countries. There is even one of the mesium in the Netherlands that holds historical evidence of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
today we are not discussing history, but I want to introduce to the world that Aceh has many amazing sights to visit. the one of them is PLTD Apung.
I will discuss a little about this Floating PLTD, let's listen to my story ...
PLTD (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Diesel) is Diesel Power Station which was previously moored in ulee lheu waters to meet the electricity needs of some cities banda aceh.
The ship with a length of 63 meters is capable of generating power of 10.5 megawatts. When the tsunami occurred on December 26, 2004, the ship was dragged by a tidal wave as high as 9 meters so it shifted to the heart of Banda Aceh City as far as 5 kilometers. This ship slammed into the middle of the residential community, not far from the Tsunami Museum.
Currently, the area around the PLTD Apung has been purchased by the government to be reorganized into educational tourism rides. To commemorate the casualties that fell due to the tsunami, built a memorial monument. On the monument, the date and time of the incident from the disaster that also happened to some countries other than Indonesia.
