Meski demikian, BI tidak melarang perdagangan cryptocurrency, karena saat ini pihak bank sentral sedang mempertimbangkan fungsinya untuk dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif investasi.
Rencana Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi (Bappebti) yang akan membuat peraturan terkait perdagangan cryptocurrency sebagai komoditas di Indonesia dapat menjadi angin segar bagi kegiatan investasi cryptocurrency di Indonesia.
