How are ETH prices sustainable? What comes next?

in #eth3 years ago

As most people have probably noticed by now, gas prices for transactions on the ETH Mainnet are getting to pretty exorbitant levels. Unless I understand what I'm seeing wrong, just to swap a less common token can cost upwards of $130 in gas fees if made during a busy portion of the day.

I'm wondering when we're going to see any sort of downwards movement on gas prices. As of right now, especially with the NFT game market growing as fast as it is, it is an absolute nightmare and rip off to make any sort of small transaction on the ETH Mainnet.

Any opinions or discussion is greatly appreciated.
