The new Ethereum language Vyper, an upgrade from Serpent, is designed to create easier and more transparent Smart Contracts.
It is more streamlined than the languages offered before, due to leaving out constructs such as class inheritance, function overloading, operator overloading, and recursion as unnecessary.
As close to Python as possible, Vyper is, however, still not a fully-fledged replacement for neither Python nor Solidity. It rather is a language-on-demand, whenever the need is for the highest level of security: storing patient health metadata in Smart Contracts for instance.
Reddit users appear pleased about the fact that “Ethereum is (now) supporting a smaller language focused on readability and security.”
