Ethereum network currently subjected to DDoS-attack. This fact is confirmed in a statement in the official blog community.
As a developer Jeffrey Wilke says the attack is conducted on a computer system, resulting in network performance slowed down dramatically. In particular, the miners and the nodes takes a very long time to process some of the blocks.
"The reason for operating EXTCODESIZE code that at a very low cost of gas uses nodes to read status information from the disk. Attackers transactions cause the operating code about 50 thousand times on the block, "- said in a statement.
As a result of the work of the network has become much slower, but the attack has no effect on the adoption of a mechanism of consensus, as no memory overload occurs.
Ethereum team identified ways to correct the problem and is currently working on this issue.
Users are strongly recommended to switch to the Parity client using the following settings:
-cache-size-db 1024 -gas-floor-target -gasprice 1000000 50000000000
When using client Geth following settings must be used:
-cache 1024 -targetgaslimit -gasprice 1000000 50000000000
A few days ago the developers Ethereum have already reported about the probable attack on the nodes that use client Geth, recommending users to switch to alternative customers.

Как отмечает разработчик Джеффри Вильке, атака ведется на вычислительную систему, в результате чего работа сети значительно замедлилась. В частности, майнерам и нодам требуется очень долгое время для обработки некоторых блоков.
“Причина в операционном коде EXTCODESIZE, который при очень низкой стоимости газа задействует ноды для чтения информации о состоянии с диска. Атакующие транзакции вызывают этот операционный код примерно 50 тысяч раз на блок», — говорится в сообщении.
В результате работа сети стала заметно медленней, однако атака никак не влияет на механизм принятия консенсуса, также не наблюдается перегрузки памяти.
Команда Ethereum определила пути исправления проблемы и в настоящий момент работает над этим вопросом.
Пользователям настоятельно рекомендуется переключится на клиент Parity с использованием следующих настроек:

При использовании клиента Geth необходимо использовать следующие настройки:

Несколько дней назад разработчики Ethereum уже сообщали о вероятной атаке на ноды, использующие клиент Geth, рекомендовав пользователям переключиться на альтернативные клиенты.
Кроме того, на протяжении уже нескольких дней поступают сообщения о проблемах с синхронизацией Ethereum-браузера Mist.
