Some people could hardly believe, that there is support for Ethereum Classic even though Vitalik Buterin officially confirmed that he will stay with the new mutable ETH. I would argue that it's precisely one of the many reasons for ETC's success. The original vision of a decentralized, and immutable future might still be realizable without the death-grip of Buterin.
Now a lot of people argue, that the miners and coders made the decision to stay with ETH. Right now ETH has almost 5 times the global hashrate, and yes a lot of coders specifically target ETH. Even though Dapps can be converted to work on ETC as well, it requires for ETC to adopt most ETH updates. But this is not as important as it might seem.
We have to remember that it is not the miners or the coders that decide which one the winning chain is, but the market. ETC still has a chance to beat ETH, whether it does or not is obviously very hard to tell, yet the markets will do so!
