I think you might be the only one that has crystallized the Ethereum dynamic as occurring in step-wise patterns. I noticed the same thing myself and I encouraged my "client-friends" to treat ethereum consolidation patterns as buying opportunities. So far, we've been proven correct, and profitable!

I don't have a negative association with bubbles and use the def below. I just use it to describe rapid rise and fall of prices.
What is a 'Bubble'
A bubble is an economic cycle characterized by rapid escalation of asset prices followed by a contraction. It is created by a surge in asset prices unwarranted by the fundamentals of the asset and driven by exuberant market behavior. When no more investors are willing to buy at the elevated price, a massive selloff occurs, causing the bubble to deflate.

This definition is not valid. Bubbles do not deflate. They pop and never come back.
