RE: Funniest Questions Vitalik Buterin Was Asked Today On BlockGeek's AMA

in #ethereum9 years ago

interesting. I can't remember which I found first, Ethereum or Steemit. I think I came across an Ethereum video around the same time I found steemit. I was a fangirl for like two minutes before I saw @dantheman crush him during an interview.......I think his youth might be something that has positives and negatives.....It certainly does support the idea of mainstream adoption. I am curious though if the DAO disaster hadn't happened, would Ethereum be farther along than it is right now?

Where did you find that interview? I've always thought it would be fun to see a debate between Vitalik and Dan. I understand they have very different viewpoints. But from what you say it sounds like Vitalik didn't fare so well.

I think the DAO disaster was a huge setback for Ethereum. Similar to Mt. Gox did with Bitcoin, the DAO tainted public perception of Ethereum for a while, though I believe we have mostly moved past that by now. It also set development back quite a bit since the Ethereum Foundation had to devote so many resources to dealing with the DAO. If not for that distraction, we might have reached the Metropolis milestone by now. But things seem back on track , and ultimately the Ethereum network is stronger for having survived the ordeal. Certainly the renewed focus on security of smart contracts has been a big positive from the whole thing.

Wonderful, thanks! Something fun to start my weekend off with. :-)

It's a really good one! The only video I'm aware of that has Vitalik and Dan asking questions.....
