TRIBUN-BALI.COM, JAKARTA - PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank Indonesia) hari ini mengumumkan persiapan final menjelang berlangsungnya lomba lari internasional Maybank Bali Marathon (MBM) 2017, pada Minggu, 27 Agustus 2017 mendatang di Bali.
Peserta
Dalam MBM 2017, sebanyak 9.000 peserta telah mendaftar, diantaranya dari Kenya, Ethiopia, Amerika Serikat, Eropa, Australia dan berbagai negara Asia lainnya termasuk para penggemar olah raga lari di Indonesia yang terus bertumbuh pesat hingga saat ini.
Dari 9.000 peserta tahun ini, sekitar 2.500 peserta merupakan peserta kategori full marathon (FM-42,195 km), di mana lebih dari 200 peserta merupakan peserta luar negeri, sementara peserta half marathon (HM-21,0975 km) sekitar 3.500 peserta diantaranya 400 peserta berasal luar negeri, dan selebihnya adalah peserta 10K dengan lebih dari 360 peserta merupakan peserta luar negeri. Jumlah peserta meningkat 20% dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya sebanyak 7.500 peserta dimana seluruh slot publik telah terjual dalam waktu 3 (tiga) hari pertama dalam periode registrasi. Jumlah ini masih bertambah dengan peserta lomba lari anak (children sprint) sebanyak 52 peserta dan penyandang disabilitas sejauh 10K sebanyak 50 peserta.
Mengantisipasi meningkatnya peserta terutama untuk faktor kenyamanan dan keamanan, panitia telah mendisain pengadaan kantong-kantong barisan pelari dan mengatur urutan start berdasarkan kategori lomba dan juga catatan waktu terbaik (personal best-PB) peserta, sehingga peserta dengan PB tercepat akan berada di depan pelari dengan PB yang lebih lambat. Jumlah marshal yang dikerahkan juga meningkat dua kali lipat, disertai jumlah barikade jalan yang lebih banyak. Kedua hal tersebut dilakukan karena karakteristik rute yang baru, dimana para pelari akan melewati beberapa pusat keramaian kota dan bukan hanya jalan-jalan kecil.
Penyegaran
Pada MBM 2017, Maybank Indonesia melakukan sejumlah penyegaran untuk memberikan tantangan baru (new adventure) dan running experience yang lebih baik, memasuki tahun keenam penyelenggaraan sejak pertama kali dihelat pada 2012.
Rute Baru
Rute baru MBM, yang menyusuri dua kabupaten yaitu Gianyar dan Klungkung, mulai dari rute 10K, HM hingga FM, semuanya telah mendapatkan sertifikasi dan telah disahkan Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) dan International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Pengukuran rute dilakukan oleh International Measurement Administrator Dave Cundy, yang memiliki Grade A IAAF-AIMS course measurer. Cundy pula yang melakukan pengukuran rute MBM sebelumnya pada 2012, rute yang dipakai hingga penyelenggaraan 2016.

Participants
In MBM 2017, a total of 9,000 participants have registered, including from Kenya, Ethiopia, the United States, Europe, Australia and various other Asian countries including Indonesia's fast-growing sports enthusiasts.
Of the 9,000 participants this year, about 2,500 participants are participants of the full marathon category (FM-42.195 km), where more than 200 participants are overseas participants, while half marathon participants (HM-21,0975 km) of about 3,500 participants include 400 participants Comes from abroad, and the rest is a 10K participant with more than 360 participants are overseas participants. The number of participants increased by 20% over the previous year by 7,500 participants in which all public slots were sold within the first 3 (three) days of the registration period. This number is still increasing with children sprint participants as many as 52 participants and disabled as far as 10K as many as 50 participants.
In anticipation of increased participants especially for safety and security factors, the committee has designed the pockets of runners and arranged the start sequence based on the competition category and also the best personal time (PB) of the participants, so that the fastest PB participants will be in front of the runner with Slower PB. The number of marshals deployed also doubled, along with more street barricades. Both are done because of the characteristics of the new route, where the runners will pass through some of the city's crowds and not just the small streets.
What Is New ?
In MBM 2017, Maybank Indonesia conducted a number of refreshments to provide new challenges (new adventure) and better running experience, entering its sixth year of holding since it was first held in 2012.
New Route
The new MBM route, which runs through two districts of Gianyar and Klungkung, from the 10K, HM to FM routes, have all been certified and have been approved by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Route measurements were conducted by International Measurement Administrator Dave Cundy, who has a Grade A IAAF-AIMS course measurer. Cundy also measured the previous MBM route in 2012, the route used until 2016.
