Well I set out to do the 10k under 55 mins on Wednesday morning. Got up, sipped a little water and headed out at 6.am.
Weather was a bit cold but felt good nonetheless. Started out really fast with a 5.20 pace per km. Funny thing is I actually maintained that pace for the first 25 minutes or so before I started fading.
I did try one last push at the 45 minute mark but my legs were already done for then. Still feeling a little pain in my right knee till now.
All in all when I stopped it at the 10km mark (about a km away from home), I wasn't too disappointed with the time. It was superquick by my standards. The only thing I may be disappointed with is perhaps my execution...maybe I'd have done better if I didn't start out too fast? Maybe not.
Hey good effort!
I find that setting off slow and building up to a faster pace works best for me, but you have to find your own way with it!
Still trying to figure the one that suits me best. I reckon it'll take more than a few runs to do so
I'd have gotten to the end of the street, turned around and gone home! 🤣
😂
Excellent work!!! why are you going to be dissapointed? It has been an excellent run and you have learnt already that is better to start quietly and progress been faster at the end.
Don't forget stretching tomorrow.
well done!!!!
I think my knee hurts cause I forgot to stretch. Even when warming up, I always feel all I need is a 5 minute jog and am set
Thats a great job!!!
Good run. I wish i am able to do 10k regularly. Regular 5Ks until then. Good effort.
Well done anyway. 55 is not easy.
Thanks Steve
