Shipworms (Tamilok) - One of the exotic food in the Philippines.

Most of us people eat some some pretty weird stuff. But for today, i just want to share about the Woodworm which is famous in the Philippines as "Tamilok" which is a Filipino delicacy, often found in the provinces Palawan and Aklan. This slimly worm - like thing that is extracted from wood or shell.

This could be found in the swampy forest and in the ocean. As you can see in the picture, it is like a spaghetti that is puffing out in the woods. Despite looking like worms, these things are actually mollusks that live in rotting mangroves along slightly salty water, where rivers meet the ocean.

The Longest Tamilok had been found in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. For more information, see this video below.
