Cafés I would visit again in Bangalore

in #exxp2 years ago (edited)

Finding new places to eat is quite the fun at a new place. Here’s a list of cafes I love going back to in Bangalore. It might sound like a peek into our dates since most of these cafes were found when we (Me and Vishnu) started dating and it was a routine to find a nice place to eat. So, the blog would be incomplete without giving you a bit of context here.

Vishnu is someone who breaths Banglore. The guy loves this city and I don’t think anything is going to change that for him! So, there are places he would love to introduce, also find new places. Also, he is a hard-core non-vegetarian who hardly eats any vegetables unless it is the only item available.

Café Nosh

I used to stay in Sahakar Nagar when I came to Bangalore. Too many stories to share around Sahakar Nagar, but let’s do it later. Sahakar Nagar, as my friends always explained, is not Bangalore! It is far from the main Bangalore city but very close to the airport. And that made finding fun places around a little difficult. We did find a few good ones and the one at the top of the list is Café Nosh.

It’s near the NCBS campus in Kodigehalli. It’s a small café with a cool ambiance, fresh menu, and good food! The seats tend to get filled very soon. We skipped it once or twice since there were no tables free during the lunch hours and evenings.

We tried their burgers, pasta, chicken fries, sandwiches, and desserts. All of them were good and that is one thing we kept going back to many times. I’m a seeker of cheesecakes wherever I go and Café Nosh had cheesecakes in different flavours.

The first time we tried their blueberry cheesecake and it was good. Soft, cheesy, and not-so-sugary or salty. There were also other yummy desserts like caramel pudding, tender coconut soufflés, and so on. I always go back to cheesecakes, however!

Cafe Rome

One of the best things when me and Vishnu started seeing each other was the bike rides. We would go for these rounds on the bike and note down places to visit next time. Sometimes he comes up with the places he found on the way from his site visits. Café Rome was one place I found on an errand to find a place to stitch in Sahakar Nagar.

We ordered a pizza, the basic mozzarella pizza, a club sandwich, and a milkshake. I’ve read a lot of reviews where people raved about their pizzas, pasta, and more. For some reason, I found it just fine!

But, the milkshake was good. There were many options for desserts, however, we didn’t have the appetite to eat them, so skipped them. I would suggest café Rome for the really cool and warm ambiance they provide.

Mother’s Kitchen

There was this weekend where we had decided to go for Tibetan food. Our minds were set on Tibetan food and Vishnu had a place in mind from his early days in Bangalore. Actually, there were a few options he had for Tibetan food. However, all of them were closed. It was the time where places were mostly shut with the lockdowns.

Finally, we went to Mother’s Kitchen in Kormangala. The food was good and all. But, my focus was all on these tiny details in the café and the retro glass bottles of Cola. I think I remember this place for the experience than the food itself. It was one of the only cafes open late at night (10 PM during the lockdown was very much late night!).

Blaack Forest

Blaack Forest in Bapusapalaya is a bakery that opened a few months back, right after the lockdowns were lifted. They have some good baked items including cakes, bread, and snacks. All of them are fresh bakes and we were regulars for their carrot cake when started. It used to get over before evening and then we had to wait till the next day.

After the bakery opened, we had ordered most of the birthday cakes from here. They also have cheesecakes, rainbow cakes, chocolate truffles, and more. The little cute café also has a dine-in open.

Coffee Mechanics

Coffee Mechanics is a tiny café that is hidden from the main city roads. The road leading there was not so good at the time we visited and no parking also. But, it is a really cool café with coffee, main course, and snacks. We had a milkshake, a cappuccino, a cinnamon roll, and lasagne.

I don’t know if it was the food or the whole cozy vibes that wanted me to stay a little longer. Definitely, a place I would go back to for trying more of their food or work from there. However, it is too tiny a place to occupy a desk for a long time. So I might not try working from the café there.

That’s all the list of places for now. There are more and some of them which are our definition to eating-out places. Now, that being stayed in Banglore for a year, we have restaurants that we love. Places we ended up going at least once or twice a month and so on. We might need dedicated blogs for some of the places too.

Bye for now and let me know if you have any recommendations around Bangalore we should try!
