It is indeed very challenging to spark interest in people, especially when they are fundamentally clueless. Also, so many people are skeptical and for that reason they just switch off the second they hear the word bitcoin. The social media aspect of Steem gives it a distinct advantage in that respect.

I agree. Steem has an advantage but it's not enough yet to convince this man that he needs it. I think that will only come when more people in his surroundings start to use it. I do expect this process to take years.
