I think the craziest thing is people will support or should I say fight for these platforms to no end. Why that is I have no idea. I can recall during orientation for my university's engineering program they wanted us to make Facebook accounts before the day was over.
I can understand a trend but sometimes trends can become a platform of degradation because there is no true community based incentive. Yes, you can chat with people but I had to stop using my Facebook because Zuckerberg kept suggesting ex girlfriends or people I thought I'd never see again...lol.
