RE: To live another's feed

in #facebook8 years ago (edited)

One of the things I love about the steem blockchain is how easy it is to break out of the echo chaimber unlike places like Facebook. When everything is transparent and readily available, you are much more likely to interact with somebody with an opposing view. I find that quite enriching and much more interesting than being stuck in the echo chaimber of a narrowly targeted social media feed carefully optimized to keep you addicted instead of letting you experience the world with all its quirks and unpleasantness.

So I agree, such a feed swap could be beneficial to anybody and could provide fresh perspective on many things. Questioning what you take for granted is never futile, even if you don't end up changing your mind. Additionally, there is a lot of demonization of the other size going around and for proper communication and coexistence we need to go in the other direction - most of us need to find a way to humanize the other side and start understanding it and trying to look at the world from their eyes. The Steem blockchain has helped me do that a lot! :)

P.S.: I hope you don't feel violated, but I've used this trick on both you and Matt before ;)
