what way do washing machines spin in austrailia

we all know the water goes down a plughole anti-clockwise , so do washing machines work the same and spin anti-clockwise?

Yes they do well at least my washing machine does but i am from victoria which is further from the top of down under which could be a factor.
also boomerangs can spin either way depending on what time of the day you throw them.
but serious about the washing machine.
