April 21, 2015 - I attended a rally of a few hundred people against child abuse outside Parliament in London. My companion was my dog Sumi, because none of my friends were free to join me.
January 21, 2017 - hundreds of thousands of feminists and women’s rights activists congregated outside Parliament and across the world to oppose the US newly elected President, Donald Trump. Lots of people I know were available to join the protest. A year later, many of those activists did the same again. I’m all for protesting for equality and human rights, so on that day in January I felt compelled to post the following photo (and cautiously written words) on my Instagram:
"Evil Triumphs When The Good Stay Silent" - I took this photo at a child abuse rally I attended in 2015, outside Parliament and Whitehall. Interestingly there were no feminist groups at that march, defending children who have been systematically abused while in governmental care homes. There was no reporting of the march by the BBC. These children and adult survivors have no voice, and the deeply disturbing reality of institutional child abuse continues to go unchallenged by the masses. Since my timeline is full of energised protestors attending the march for women on this cold day in January, I post this photo in support of the children and survivors who patiently wait for the world to wake up and support them. I believe all humans can and should be doing this, not just women. The issue of child abuse and child sex trafficking goes to the very heart of the elite power structure and politics, which is exactly why the corporate media doesn't support awareness to the issue. Like everything else, the problem of child abuse started before D Trump was elected and went unchallenged by all of your favourite leaders before him. If today is a day of solidarity, the peaceful wishes for change must extend to protecting the children on this planet. #csa #2017
Good for you for attending in the first place, and good for you for posting it. Im sure your ‘friends’ have increasingly found themselves too busy for much of anything that outside whatever ubiquitous mass media dogwhistle they’ve become trained to. This path can feel very lonely a times, but see that it doesn’t discourage you. There is NO GREATER cause than the defense of children, and you should BE very proud of yourself for being someone who even understamds that; it’s rarity of rare qualities. Follow me, we are doing something very different here.
