Taking children away from their parents should be a measure reserved for extreme cases - in most cases, where's a suspicion of neglect or lack of money, I think the trauma the child goes through when placed in a foreign environment vastly outweighs the benefits! And that's assuming the system has the child's best interests in mind, which it rarely does.

Yeah, it's mostly just about procedures to follow because that's the job :/ There isn't always critical thinking and really looking at the bigger picture.
