After 9 years it seems the end of the road for HIVE and myself. Anyone who has been following me is likely to be aware of my grave disappointment of the STEEM/HIVE fork and disdain for those responsible.
The logic was, therefore, understandable to me when @hurtlocker decided to police my posts and remove any rewards from them; even my Merry Christmas post ironically. It was not for my past attitudes that he chose to do so but for my comments on one of his posts in which he asked if one considered downvoting an attack. Apparently by answering the affirmative was enough to bring the wrath of his stake down upon you. His stooge @antisocialist followed his lead. That one hurt a bit as he has had my support for many years.
@hurtlocker is a more polite @berniesanders and he even persuaded me that taking anything from the reward pool might be considered a bit hypocritical considering my attitude of the governance of HIVE. That is here nor there, however, as the truth is that HIVE is no longer important enough for me to bother fighting about it. Departure seems the more sensible approach.
A great many of this community holds a special place in my heart. They have been the reason that brought me back, eventually, after the fork and they make it the hardest part of my leaving.
Powering down will take a while and you may see me in some comment threads, yet by and large this is my farewell. My feeling is that it has been 9 years well waisted!
May the wind be at you backs!

It is a mystery to me why Hurt would DV you, but Antisocialist just follows a trail so he stays abreast of who's on whose list. He's got a healthy stake, but I bet his DV was miniscule.
While I've been following you for a while, I can understand needing to do something else. Your account is permanent, so if you ever get to hankering to see what's going on here, you can stop in anytime. I just was able to talk to someone that hasn't been on here in ~3 years, so it could even happen to you.
Calm seas and clear skies, my friend.

I have run out of vote mana, but wanted to express my appreciation for your kindness.
Thanks!
I do not believe your description of the events are accurate.
That being said, I do not think this post is about me and what I want.
You deserve a positive farewell experience with those who are not me that know you better than I. I wish you the best and hope people who care about you here let you know what you mean to them in the comments.
Good luck in your future endeavors.
I cannot fault your manner, and agree with OP on "@hurtlocker is...polite...", but more than merely polite, you are sincere. I have no recollection of seeing such a comment from someone that DV'd the OP ever before. You were not on Steem and did not know the user OP compared you to, but his manner was the opposite of yours in every way. It was largely because of him that I formed much of my opinion of current Hive governance, although it was then Steem governance.
Because of comments like this, the post I just read, and our discussions, I am having to reconsider my opinions.
Ah fuck. I know you've been many times at the cusp of leaving but I'm super sad about it. Hive won't be the same without you and I'm sorry it's come down to a few bad players - whatever 'bad' might mean I guess. I'm a bit over the years of drama and bickering that's for sure.. Mind you I'm feeling I'm over writing every day. It's not Hive per se, just I'm reaching the end of my time in terms of wanting to be online so much at all!!!
I'm so sorry to hear that and I feel very sad.
I really enjoyed your posts and sharing some of your time.
I would ask you to re-consider: my experience of Hive is that these things pass.
But I respect your decision.
May the wind be at your back.
Sad to see you go!
