Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) native to Europe, is a plant that has many medicinal properties that help to recover and maintain our health naturally. It usually grows in fields, in areas of grasslands, meadows, roadsides, gardens and is characterized by its sawn leaves and yellow flowers. Nowadays many people do not know that this plant that they have at their disposal is very beneficial.

Contains vitamins A, B, C, folic acid and minerals such as potassium, silicon, iron and tannins. It acts as a great depurative, cleaning the body of accumulated toxins due to a poor diet, bad habits, sedentary lifestyle, etc. It is also popularly known as chicory, hairy, starch, bitter, crown friar or argon.

  • Tincture: You can find this tincture in many herbalists and specialty stores, its form of consumption is simple and you only have to add a few drops to a large glass of water or natural juice.

  • Infusion or tea: Boil a tablespoon of fresh or dried dandelion, after 3 minutes of boiling, turn off the heat and let stand another 3 minutes and strain. You can take up to 3 traces of this infusion a day, after the main meals.

  • Baths: You can also prepare local baths with the decoration of the plant, very useful to soothe hemorrhoids and varicose veins.

  • These plants prefer fresh or temperate climates, although it adapts easily to most climates.

  • You need sunlight to develop properly.

  • It usually blooms almost all year.

  • This plant is not too demanding in terms of terrain, it requires good drainage and fertile, fresh and medium textured soil.

  • The seeds do not need any preparation to be sown.

  • Seeds should be planted in rows, leaving a distance of about 5-10 centimeters between specimens and about 2 or 3 millimeters deep.

  • Its irrigation must be constant during the first days until the plant develops. Then you should water it every two or three days, approximately.

  • Remove weeds that grow around the plant.

  • Harvesting takes place during the spring, wait for the leaves to dry and then store them in small containers preferably of cloth. Its roots are collected in late summer or early fall and stored in a tightly closed container.
