We, occupied- Part 1

in #fiction8 years ago (edited)

Once there was a great battle, before we were the Occupied.

All the Ancestors decided to take a stand against the Occupiers. Of course, they were not called the Occupiers at this epoch, but were identified as the Aggressors. The Aggressors were not always known by either name, nor will they from this time forth. For, one day in the future the Occupiers, who were once the Aggressors, will be the Refugees, and they may one day be known as the Aggressors once more.

We have been branded the Caretakers, the Survivors, and of course, we are the Occupied. But these cycles are beyond this story, overarching the age of which I speak of today.

The battle was heavily lopsided in favor of the Aggressors.

Though the Ancestors were taught through their Stories to respect life and love all that carry light with them, the battle was necessary. This fact has been debated, and argued, by those who have not experienced direct oppression, for they like to speak in ideals that only the privileged can consider trying to enforce.

The reason the battle became inevitable was that the Aggressors travelled a great distance from their own loam disrespecting, killing and coercing along the way. The Ancestors, were in their direct trajectory and were not willing to allow their land, and way, to be disparaged. The Ancestors would not be intimidated into the way of the Aggressors. There was no choice left, the Ancestors would not give their land voluntarily, or allow the assault to spread to the Others in the forest and hills.

This is where we pickup the story...
