The sudden rumble in the sky woke me from a deep slumber. I opened my eyes and looked up. Thick, dark storm clouds grew quickly overhead, covering the lazily rising sun. The ground trembled under my body, as if Gaia herself was musing over something. And then I heard it - the unmistakable roar of a God. My ears pulsed with pain as the deafening sound hit them. I then listened closely to the other sounds; the wail of a planet, thunderous crashes of nature bursting with anger for being disturbed. I looked up above and saw massive lightning bolt tearing through the sky, as the thunderous sound made it's presence known.
I stumbled to my feet in a panic, my home barely feeling safe from the vicious winds that tore at them, in a never-ending cyclone. I nearly tripped over a small branch, before standing slightly proud. If this storm was going to let up anytime soon, I'd have no shelter left but the mountains themselves. My feet took steps slowly, trying to find their footing, when they slipped and fell off the cliff to mark my end.
Only that wasn't the case at all, and my hands shot out grabbing a tree trunk growing up from the earth. I nearly snapped both wrists trying to get a grip, but the tree's trunk only grew roots and sunk itself into the ground to give it more support. My hands began to slip, and with that, my body began to dangle from the tree. My mind raced as the ground dropped below me, and my body was put into a horizontal state. My spine began to ache from the strain. My eyes stared at the ground so far away, as I knew that I would hit it in a matter of seconds.
And then, I yanked myself up. My body slowly rose up to the top of the tree, dry leaves falling like rain. I breathed in stale air, catching my breath momentarily before continuing to climb. I had to be far enough away, and quickly. The constant muscle spasms in both arms and my chest were giving me a migraine, making it hard to keep my eyes open. The wind howled in the sky, a symphony of destruction, and yet all I could do was try to ignore it.
The small cabin that I had been sleeping before the storm had started was completely gone, and the cliff was crumbling apart. Only the base of the ledge remained. I climbed to the top of that and laid down on the dirt, my eyelids closing as my body shook from the cold. My body quaked. A wave of pain ran through my neck as it arched in an attempt for relief. My eyes snapped open and I looked back up at the beautiful canopy of the evergreen tree, towering over me. But not for long.
A crack of thunder shook the ground and busted through my skull. The pain was unbearable, and I let out a scream from my clenched throat before I could stop myself. The pounding moment followed behind, reminding me of my emptiness. The pain brought me in a new kind of misery, and I limped across the ground to the only nearby rock I could see. I found myself next to a small creek. The place itself was lovely; I felt an odd sense of peace as I looked upon the beauty that nature could create.

Thunder roared louder than before, and once again my body shivered, my teeth chattering, as the rocks beneath my nails shook. A ripple in the water could be seen, and I watched with morbid curiosity. The leaves and branches on the ground were getting drenched by water, the tree leaves themselves now wet and dripping. I stood in a puddle of freezing water, shivering my whole body violently. I kicked the puddle, messing up my toes.
I looked up once again, before shutting my eyes tightly, yearning for escape. The trees moaned ominously with the wind as the violent storm tore apart their home. I slowly opened my eyes, raising my hands once more to shield them from the thick rain that was falling from up above. I was sure now that I had gone mad. The water that was falling from the sky was red. Not simply tinted red, with a hint of it. It was pure red, a sickening hue that summed up the very feeling I was experiencing. The trees began to sway violently, their branches, I felt, brushing my face, my hair. I gasped as a branch cracked loud against my shoulders. The ominous sound ran through me like a knife, and I doubled over with an agonized cry.
The groaning noise of the world fell into silence, all of the noise inducing pain. A small beam of lightning ran through the air and hit the very rock I was lying next to. I froze as I felt a sharp sense of pain. It was the wind hitting my skin. I twirled onto my back just as the pile of rocks I was previously on was swept away in a massive wind, taking my belongings with it.
