So I am inside this bus, sitting in the exact position I sat yesterday, wheni met her, of gold skin, orange blood, banana bones and glittery smile.
................... .................
5minutes before we came down from the bus near the broken west-gate, I held her palm. She probably thought it was one of her coursemate, but discovered it was the guy from the bus, smiling so familiarly, as she tilted her face to meet mine.
"Sorry if this is awkward, I don't want all this staring holsters to think I am wooing you. They should think I have you already." I said, concluding with a smirk.
"Did you memorize all that difficult speech, and suffer to recall it for me. That's cute"
Then, the smile I wore was real and close to laughter.
"Yea... I guess i did. How did I do?"
"Don't worry, we are good. I did not understand anything."
"Haha..." That pending laughter exploded.
This conversation is a lie. Truth is I basically followed her for some time until she entered inside the school main compound and met her coursemate or boyfriend, I am not sure which.
..................... ..................
It was when I turned my neck to the back inorder see my tormentor, that i first saw her. She was poking me unendingly, telling me to pass the money to the driver, from the back. So when I turned around to have a glimpse of the one that held the blade of my torture, there she went, all pretty and cute. All my annoyance dissolved and I found myself smiling. Her eyes clear and pure like God's Ghost. Her lips; tiny but fleshy. She was just perfect.
"You are paying me for this i said with a goofy smile. Unfortunately, it was the last thing I said to her. Yes, I know, I need flogging.
My notion of her perfection did not last too long. When she came down from the bus with her body like celestial architecture, I had a change of notion. A photocopy of heavenly beingsshe was divine.
Mind1 said, "Are you setting yourself up for rejection this innocent morning?
Mind2 said, "What can simply go wrong?"
Mind3 said something about fineboyz, na dem dey rush us, her boyfriend go rush you.
My first mind said, "she is single" and my second mind insisted that she is too pretty to be single. Noway.
My first mind said, Not interested and my second my replie "interested"
I hope in the future, some scientist would invent a device, ladies and guys could wear that would write the status of their interest on the person, on top of their heads.
Fear of rejection is real, especially when the person is somewhat perfect. The beauty of the world is in nature and nature includes us.
.................... .................
Boarding this bus again now, reminds me of beauty with difference faces. Never forget to Stay Green.
