A huge percentage of the Preppers I've seen have obscenely complicated (and aggressive) plans to protect their family and their family only from the inevitable doom of the world. They never think about who their kids are going to meet and marry, and what those children are going to do for clothing, for example.
Society didn't rise into existence through endless murder.
