Channeling Damon Runyon in my short ghost story "Footdazzle," which is included in my book, A Scream Full of Ghosts. The main character, Stu Sanchez, the so-called "Shoemaker to the Stars," famous for his miserly ways, learns a dark lesson in humility and honesty from a ghost.
"The first thing you need to know about Stu is that he was cheap as fuck...Everyone in the business knew how cheap he was. He hoarded money like Bill Shatner hoards toupees....His shop was called Footdazzle (corny name, I know) and it was pretty close to Glendale's main tourist attraction, Verdant Lawns Memorial Park, where a shitload of Hollywood celebrities have gone to their final rest..."
