For a moment I thought there was some hope after all... but hope is such a fleeting thing... One moment it's there and the next moment it's gone... It flees the moment one needs it the most...
I thought the bird would bring some sort of assurance or solace or peace to him but it wasn't... I'm sure you've heard of Anubis... The Egyptian god who weighs the heart against a feather and what weighs one's heart puts one in heaven and hell... The bird reminded me of Anubis
